Mesothelioma Lawyer Report

Mesothelioma Lawyers report  that the Mesothelioma Cancer threat continues to haunt workers in the US.  Mesothelioma Lawsuit cases continue to be filed by Mesothelioma Attorneys against corporations that exposed workers to Asbetos Do you believe government mandated regulations protect workers today from asbestos exposure that could lead to mesothelioma cancer? Think again? Despite the Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations in place since 1970, employers continue to ignore the need to adequately protect their workers, placing untold numbers at risk of developing the deadly disease, mesothelioma cancer.

Mesothelioma cancer is primarily caused by exposure to asbestos, a naturally occurring substance. Most victims of mesothelioma lung cancer or any other form of mesothelioma cancer were exposed at the workplace although that is not the only source of exposure. School children have been exposed. Apartment dwellers and families of people working around asbestos have been and continue to be at risk. The same employers that were negligent in their responsibility to protect their employees are even today trying to protect their pockets by trying to avoid mesothelioma  lawsuit payouts.

The hazards associated with exposure to asbestos are well documented. In 1970 the US Congress passed the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 creating what we now know as OSHA. According to OSHA the dangers are high and ongoing. This information is readily visible on the OSHA website "Asbestos is one of the many threats that OSHA tackled – a controversial, 40-year battle it continues to wage. A naturally-occurring mineral valued for its incredible heat resistance and wonderful versatility, asbestos became a silent killer, often waiting decades after exposure to do its most serious damage by causing mesothelioma and lung cancer."

When anyone is diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer, it is a death knell. Life is over and usually quickly. The latency period for mesothelioma cancer is very long but after diagnosis, the disease progresses quickly leaving most victims measuring their lives in months, not years. In light of the tremendously horrible consequences, reports of employer negligence are abundant.

In 2006 the EPA published this "The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently fined five Arizona charter schools a combined total of $49,200 for asbestos violations."  Also in 2006 the following news report says "NOCO Energy Corp. was cited for 18 serious violations of OSHA standards governing work with, or around, asbestos and the proper selection and use of respirators." Other reports of negligence include allegations of illegal dumping of asbestos by a New Jersey recycling company.

In 2012 the Insurance Journal reported "Federal safety regulators have cited seven construction companies for exposing workers to asbestos hazards at a San Antonio construction work site. Proposed penalties total $148,000." And in 2013 one news report in The Register Guard says "State occupational safety and health regulators fined McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center and a Utah-based general contractor each more than $25,000 for improper handling of asbestos during renovations last year to the Springfield hospital's second floor."

Should these employers if the allegations and reports are true not have to take responsibility for their actions and the possibility they cost some people their lives? A push for legislation governing how and when a mesothelioma lawyer can file a mesothelioma lawsuit is currently active. The public is encourages to learn more about mesothelioma cancer, it causes, symptoms any potential legal rights to financial compensation if you have been impacted.
