Mesothelioma is a serious and incurable cancer that is diagnosed in nearly 3,000 Americans each year.  Mesothelioma is almost always a direct consequence of exposure to asbestos fibers. According to the IMIG, in North America, the number of mesothelioma cases has risen steadily over the past two decades, and more than 28 million people have had significant exposure to asbestos. Mesothelioma has a latency period as long as 50 years before the disease develops.

IMIG is an independent international group of scientists and clinicians working to understand, cure and prevent mesothelioma.

See IMIG's website for more information and to register for the conference.
